Don't even get me started on replying to audio messages

[-] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago

HOLY FUCK. I have some dear friends that send me these long-ass voice messages and bless them, I love them dearly, but it will take me a week or more to reply because my ADHD ass can barely sit through a youtube video, let alone a voice text. Would anyone be able to recommend an app I can use to transcribe these messages?

IMO it's inconsiderate to send a voice note that is longer than about 1.5 minutes. Any longer and it's the audio equivalent of an overly long text.

To me, a missed phone call means that you thought of me in passing and thought it'd be nice to talk. A voicemail means that you had some purpose or need. Honestly, I don't even listen to the voicemail, it's just a tool to gauge how quickly you're expecting to hear back from me. Half the time, by the time I call back, a lot of the voice message was irrelevant anyway.

I just refuse to listen to any audio messages. If they can't be bothered to type it then so be it. Never missed anything important.
