This decade-old Early Access title on Steam is getting a major overhaul soon, which will completely change the survival zombie horror game.

Project Zomboid Build 42 is the biggest update to the game yet, with new crafting mechanics, weapons, customization options, and the ability to extend the length of sandbox campaigns.
Players can access the new features early by joining the Project Zomboid test branch, although there is a risk of encountering bugs or corrupt save files.
The update will introduce new professions like Blacksmithing, Stonework, and Brewing, allowing players to be more self-sufficient and create advanced weapons.

Hahaha yeah probably, but at least you'll have plenty of time to play by then!

Screenrant is a "disable your ad blocker to view" site and I'm on mobile so I couldn't see how bad it was. I did do a brief check for any dev announcements but didn't see anything of consequence recently for a release so I have no idea where this info is coming from.
