How much does running Debian Testing actually help the community?
In my experience, there aren't that many visible bugs in there, and when you try to report one, it's usually already known and often already fixed or being worked on.
I run Sid. It's perfectly capable as a daily driver if you follow some best practices. And if there is a bug, I can be relatively sure it's a new one and my contribution actually does something.

Lots of bugs that have been filed but still many that have not. I log a bug about once a month.
