B. It's hard to make my community grow when I'm the only one posting there. But I keep lurking because I hope it will gain momentum.
Reddit will surely purge NSFW sooner or later, so when that happens we need to be ready to welcome all those users.
I agree. I remember gfycat to redgifs, Tumblr to Reddit, now imgur to others like lensdump, imgchest, filecat..., hmmm ๐
Yes! Gfycat doesn't even exist anymore.
The time will surely come for Reddit to remove NSFW material. And then we'll be here, ready to welcome all those users.
Please hang in there. You have in your [email protected] a relatively niche focused community so it will take patience to gain that audience and OC posters.
I would suggest you team up with other communities and mods and look for opportunities to crosspost relevant content to/from others and other places. You could help mod other comms too, that would create visibility for you and your interests.
Just as on Reddit, personally for me when I post an image or vid clip, I'm thinking about at least 3-5 other places where the post would be relevant too to crosspost to that a slightly different community/audience would enjoy. Some people might say that is BS, but it works, and it's similar advice i give to sellers too. An example for me is all the potential crossovers overlap between [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], ... (and many more to name, I've intentionally not mentioned all the overly large broad ones like ass, boobs, pussy, etc)
You can use this community itself to ask for advice or collaborators...
Thank you, that's a really good idea! I'll surely try it.
Just Fyi that you might find useful too - see https://lemmynsfw.com/post/4557625
That's a pretty niche area. Lemmy's not so massive that niche areas will be populated.
