Which Samsung sets are you using? Some TVs look horrible with HDR whereas some look amazing. Since buying an LG CX I’ve been spoiled and desperate for more HDR content.
The two I have are:
UN55KS8000 55" 4K
QN65Q800TAFXZA 65" 8K
Those aren’t the best of the best but HDR should still look significantly better than SDR content.
Have you tried checking your settings to make sure things are configured correctly? Or maybe try using some of the smart tv apps and comparing HDR content on them vs content coming from an external device?
Many times, sitting going through the rtings settings line by line. Only thing that works is disabling HDR.
The weird thing is that you can see the difference live on screen at the same time. The main image is HDR, muddy, dark, and unwatchable, but the thumbnail image when FF and RW is bright, clean, and clear because HDR isn't applied to the thumbnails.
Just found the thread on the Samsung forums you got those pictures from haha. I don’t know why your issue frustrates me so much but it does! Determined to solve this.
