I think it's an interesting idea, but as someone who has an account on furry.engineer and follows fediverse politics, something jumped out at me; its use of a blocklist.
The page doesn't mention who they are using as the root of trust, so I assume it's the fediseer account. Now I don't have anything against fediseer (mostly), but adding a single point of trust to this system is, I think, a bit unnecessary.
Instances that want to protect themselves against spam or undesirables can do it themselves with their own blocklists, fediseer or otherwise. I'm not sure why this tool needs to have its own opinion on blocklists.
I also think whether to pull down nsfw communities should be a toggle; some instances may be cool with it.
Hi. I don't use a Fediseer account, I'm just fetching guarantors and censures from Fediseer. I only block lemmit.online and alien.top myself, which are Reddit clone instances.
Doesn't that leave you open to being DoSed if someone creates three troll instances and each censure a bunch of instances?
Then they will all blocked from Fediseer, since its chain of trust. But being able to toggle Fediseer and NSFW makes sense. I'll think about it 🙏 I guess instances should be able to choose whatever they want.
I made it in one day, and didn't thought about it much.
