House Republicans moved to reduce Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s salary to $1, as lawmakers debate spending bills ahead of the government funding deadline next week.

The salary cut for Buttigieg was put forth by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and adopted by voice vote as an amendment to the 2024 Transpiration and Housing and Urban Development spending bill.

“Pete Buttigieg doesn’t do his job. It’s all about fake photo ops and taxpayer-funded private jet trip to accept LGBTQ awards for him,” Green posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “I’m happy my amendment passed, but he doesn’t deserve a single penny.”

The underlying bill needs to be approved by the full House and is unlikely to be approved by the Senate.

I don't know how the universe began because it happened 13-26 billion years before I was born. However it is fair to assume that there were some factors that we don't understand, and it is healthy to understand the limits of our knowledge, as well as how far centuries of meticulous science has helped push our collective understanding.

Pretending to understand all of our universe's questions through a story made up by ancient bandits, whose answers directly contradict those we have undeniably proven through science, is just stupidity in this day and age.

Maybe, hypothetically, there was some creature of another dimension that was able to create our universe in some kind of container. Maybe all the energy of the universe really did just appear out of nowhere. But we have no evidence, and your story is still made up.

You're not wrong, you're just focused on ancient bandits. Which is cool. They suck.

True. Yahweh was just another tribal god which represented one small group, conflicting with hundreds of similar gods, and just happened to rise to prominence which caused those with faith to write fanfiction. Highlighting the origins show the absurdity of the whole belief, and that's why I focus on it as a talking point.

You keep going after that strawman and eventually someone may question your desperation to defend your faith based theories no one cares about.

I don't have a faith, you're projecting
