Now we’re pre-hyping the hype trailers
I swear this game is going to flop because of the massive expectations people are going to have. I may be wrong and also never got the appeal of those games, so take my opinion with a grain of salt
The massive hype and popularity means everyone and their mother will buy it day 1 even if it ends up being trash. They don't need to keep you happy, just to buy the game
I hate that you’re right. Because that’s what gaming is boiled down to today. How to maximize day 1 profit, no need for down the line customer enjoyment
I wouldn't be so sad about it. That's just what happens with AAA games. I cite Cyberpunk (which honestly great in CDPR for how much post-launch work they've put in, but we gotta admit it was launched when it was as a means to pull in profit fast), every modern Fifa or CoD or Madden. Diablo 4 has been the king of this crime.
On the other hand you have amazing games being pushed out by indie devs, or smaller franchises within those big publishers. Hell, doesn't even need to be either of those, Nintendo still puts out mega-hyped high quality games like Super Mario Wonder or BoTW/TotK.
BG3 probably game of the decade btw.
