Pay transparency is being forced to exist with laws. As soon as studies were done on pay, it was found that people were discriminated against based on gender, race, etc. The counter to this was 'no they aren't' with almost every business (and all of the ones I've worked for) telling employees to 'not talk about pay'. The constant argument against this is that it doesn't need to happen. People down voting means it has to be law, because people are still trying to hide these numbers.

If you have the stomach for it, read the comments on the article. They're vile enough to prove just how necessary these laws are, and I say this as a white, middle aged man.
