Isn't this usually for saying the obvious thing that will never be done?

Famously, Kate Mulgrew (Janeway) tried to stop it. She was highly against it. She failed (hence the title chosen)

Thankfully seven was a pretty awesome character in addition to being sexy. Except in the later seasons where she was singing or wearing a dress every other episode. That was a bit much.

She was a useless character, making the borg completely absurd and ridiculous (sex suits instead of armour? High heels?), all to just put her in stupid situations where she just is a "damsel in distress" even though she's supposed to be an augmented human.

I don't have a lot of problems with Voyager as a show, but Seven is quite obviously at the top.

You can say a lot about seven but being a "damsel in distress" couldn't be farther from fhe truth, she was the most badass of them all and in some episodes aliens tried taking advantage of her and failed miserably. She was mostly put there for nerds to drool over, but she was not a badly written character and even had a decent development

I would say Jeri Ryan was also a very good actress, contrary to some peoples’ expectations.

In the episode “Body And Soul”, the Doctor puts his consciousness inside of Seven. Jeri Ryan has to act like the Doctor, and she has to act like the Doctor poorly acting like Seven. I’d say she perfectly captures Robert Picardo’s mannerisms.

I agree, she did great. But let's not pretend she was put in her tight dress and heels for a plot point. But yeah, her sexiness was only a minor part of her reasonably complex character, so it was not that bad after all.

Did you even watch voy, or Picard for that matter??

Damsel in distress, get the fuck out of here

You mean where a rigid borg-raised girl suddenly becomes a weird drunkard biker batman? Yeah, they managed to make it even more incoherent.

borg completely absurd and ridiculous (sex suits instead of armour? High heels?)

I always assumed that was the doctor playing dress up and she wasn't individual enough to contradict it. Once she came back to the Alpha Quadrant she clearly got some fashion sense

The infamous silver suit was, in-universe, explicitly the Doctor’s design. It was mumble mumble healing suit. Out of universe, it’s obviously an excuse for a horny outfit, but it was never a Borg design.

She actually didn’t keep it very long, switching to her purple outfit, which was slightly less exploitative. That outfit had nothing to do with the Borg, but was a result of her becoming more human.

FWIW, she should have been in a Starfleet uniform, at least after the first few episodes. She wore one well in the episode where she traveled back in time. If the show wanted to keep her unique, her uniform color could have been nonstandard, maybe white on the shoulders, but oh well that ship has sailed.

It works for me because Mulgrew really didn’t like Jeri Ryan at first, so throwing someone out the window for even suggesting a sexy new character makes sense.

(For anyone who hadn’t heard this before, it turned out fine. Mulgrew and Ryan were friends by the time the show ended.)
