This sub is supposed to be something I and my brother-in-law writing down for my daughter as something we give her when she is 18. Advices, thoughts, etc. if I could make this private, I would.

Have you not been paying attention? The world is in a pretty dire state, maybe letting so many "average" people run things is part of how we got here.
