I like your swamp idea, Although I think the temple should remain close by. I also loved that everything in the original swamp camp looked very similar and you easily got lost. Also the everpresent danger of the swamp sharks should be carried over and increased even - maybe there could be random events of swamp sharks getting to close to the camp and templars having to rush in?
I would like to expand the troll valley area, because I always thought it a bit bland in the original game. Also is was very intrigued by the old Castell you and gorn get the focus from, but there’s little to explore really, maybe more on the history of that place and couple of puzzles like in the one you go to with Lester.
Don't know if you've ever played it but the Othello 2.0 mod changes a lot of the areas in Gothic 1, and I think it was their most recent update that added a new swamp layout. That layout in my opinion has some good things going for it.
You mean the place where you get the Focus with Diego? I think if it was an actual long ass canyon, with steep walls and some caves, it would have been a lot more interesting.
