I got an mi max 2 from the same era, running android 13, thanks to crDroid
Maintainer is even working on a newer kernel to allow android 14 to run
It's honestly running better than ever, UI usability is on par with way newer phones running 60hz
This is the problem with a restrictive ecosystem which has no room for development
