I made the pattern in stable diffusion using the repeat x and y options. I loaded that into photoshop as a pattern and then made a canvas with the size of the piece and filled using the pattern.

I used contact paper over the wood so it didn't get too sooty, but I also cleaned up the pieces lightly with a toothbrush and a little water (I think). Polyeurathane over the top for the gloss and protection.

If I did it again, I would cut the pieces so they 'connect' together like puzzle pieces somewhat to help with application.
