Not attracting insects is the best part about having deep red in a headlamp. It sucks having your face attacked by 1000 june bugs

That's interesting, I wonder if green lights attract less bugs too? There have been debates on if red or green is the best for natural night vision
google says: "The study showed that 22% of bugs were attracted to the blue spectrum, while 18% were attracted to white, 10% to yellow, 2% to red and 4.7% to green."
