#2 is sort of what I meant. Essentially, making it look like it was shot on a cheaper or older camera.

Really just personal preference, though.

I see you moderate [email protected] (is this the right way to mention communities?), what software do you use to create the images?

Depends on what's available. Normally, I use either LibreOffice Draw or GIMP to get the images together; GIMP to mess with the colours and resolution; and Kdenlive (of all things) to add animated text.

If I only have my phone handy, however, I use Apple Photos to change the colours, and Canva to put everything together. Proprietary software is kinda sucky, but it's all I have on my phone.

As for the images themselves, I usually just search "IMG_xxx" into Ecosia or LibreX until I find something that's already a bit liminal or eerie; but I sometimes shoot them myself.

Also, when not using glitter text, I tend to go for red or orange Nimbus Sans. I also often use song lyrics for inspiration.
