A good way imo is to post in german with an english translation added. Translating your text with deepl should be good enough.

This allows people to answer in german but also allows english speaking folks to help.

Deutsch:

Eine gute Möglichkeit ist auf deutsch mit einer englischen Übersetzing zu posten. Eine Übersetzung mit deepl ist gut genug.

Dann können deutsche wie ich antworten aber auch englischsprechende Leute können antworten und den Kontext verstehen.

I sometimes wonder if I am the only person in tchncs instance that does not understand German language.

Might be close :D

tchncs.de is hosted in Germany and reddit has big german communities, so it makes sense that there're also many germans on lemmy/kbin.
