I'm not sure it's a total fumble, but I do worry that this is just Jagex expanding what they can sell RS3 players again. We've got a subscription, cosmetic and non-cosmetic micro transactions, effectively loot boxes, and now potentially a battle pass on top of that?

To be clear, haven't seen anything to suggest you need to pay for the battle pass, but it just feels like a weird expansion for RuneScape. I wish they'd try to cleanup the monetization/have fewer but higher quality options (e.g., more RS art style cosmetics like what Destiny and Hunt Showdown do -- to be fair, the pass does seem to have cosmetics that are actually in RS style not just "generic MMO bulky spiky thing" like some of the earlier cosmetics).
