Super excited! It came in yesterday and I spent most of the day learning the ins-and-and-outs of the deck while loading it up with games. I'm very impressed how good it feels in my hands, sturdy build but light.

Have you played any of the newer, more resource intensive games on it yet? If so, how was the experience? I've been thinking about getting one myself but I'm still a little unsure on how well it performs.

Damn, I will sound like some kind of YouTube shill, but if you search game title steam deck on YT, there are usually some good videos that showcase what you can expect. Wow a few channels upload daily and stay up to date with newest releases- good and bad.

I usually check this one called Steam Deck Gaming https://youtube.com/@SteamDeckGaming

Which games are you curious about?

No particular game. I'm just not sure how powerful the SteamDeck actually is and how well it will run resource intensive games.

People have played Cyberpunk on Steam Deck, at reduced graphics levels of course. Horizon Zero Dawn runs also runs pretty well, Elden Ring is a popular one. In terms of gaming performance, it's roughly on par with the PS4. It is surprisingly capable, especially since you have access to settings like framerate limiting, you can sometimes bump up the graphics and still get decent performance by reducing the framerate.

I just got Cyberpunk 2077 downloaded and running. Plays great and the gyro aiming really takes the game to another level. The deck does get pretty warm but it plays smoothly.

If it can play Satisfactory I'll never get anything done in the real world ever again.
