How to run a shadow library: operations at Anna’s Archive
(annas-blog.org)
In cryptography, encryption is the process of encoding information. This process converts the original representation of the information, known as plaintext, into an alternative form known as ciphertext. Ideally, only authorized parties can decipher a ciphertext back to plaintext and access the original information.
One thing I don't like about this new Anna's archive is the fact they have no fedi/Matrix/XMPP presence.
They only exist on Telegram, Reddit and Twitter. Why? Maybe it's easier to avoid problems there? I don't know, but I don't think it would hurt them to be on other platforms too. Maybe they don't have the resources to be there too? I mean, it does make sense they only exist on mainstream platform, after all that is their target, but it's still sad.
The website is awesome though, as well as their mission
They run their own chat server for collaboration. The rest are just for getting the word out.
