This would be a lot more exciting if he didn't also just announce that we're sending cluster munitions to Ukraine.
Apparently a big reason for sending the cluster munitions to Ukraine was because the US has a rather large stockpile of cluster munitions that we could spare compared to precision munitions. Coupled with the vast minefields Russia setup in Ukrainian land makes it difficult for them to pass through areas without they themselves being blown up by random mines, and the fact that Russia has already used cluster munitions on civilian targets in Ukraine… it’s not like we sent those munitions to a random country just as an arms sale. Ukraine is actively fighting against an insurgency and terrorist state and needs all the ammo, weapons and supplies it can get.
This is how we are disposing of them.
I legit chuckled at that
The timing is so close, it has to be related. Like they decided to send the cluster munitions and then someone had to go look for things to make the non-neocons happy.
Did I miss the memo where the US government can only do one thing at a time? Or are they switching to a Civilization style turn based strategy where this turn we sent cluster munitions and we have to wait until next turn to get rid of chemical weapons?
The pace at which the government usually moves feels more like TBS than RTS to me.
By design. The PR/Propaganda machine works as intended. I’ve got military and government family and lots of stuff happens so quickly, but people don’t hear about the background stuff and military stuff is definitely much more hush hush than other sectors.
The fact that they can do so many things at a time makes it all the more coincidental when two related things get announced on the same day.
