Completely changed the game.
But we also need to learn from City and not completely throw our game plan out the window when we get red carded. Why couldn’t we continue to dominate possession with 10 men?
I think we showed we can once we got control near the end (and with the subs).
The first yellow was "wrong place, wrong time". The team was seen to be time wasting, and he just happened to be holding the ball when the Ref lost his patience. It's unfortunate, but if this is the way refs police time wasting overall it will benefit Arsenal this season. Arsenal are mostly victims of time wasting, rather than perpetrators.
The second one is one you're always going to see given. A player gets turned in a break-away situation and the defender touches him. If the attacker goes down, the defender is always going to be carded. Ayew is a clever attacker and knew how to sell it.
The problem there is that you're expecting the refs to be consistent
They are absolutely consistent, what do you mean? Consistently benefitting teams in a city that rhymes with Colchester, consistently not booking Rodri for horror tackles....
