It's no different than any other client, and looks like the torrent is healthy so should just work.
As with all BT clients, you get better connectivity by forwarding the designated port. Does it say NAT OK at the bottom of the window?
Hmm weird, I started clicking through tabs and it started working. I don’t know where the NAT area is so I don’t know unfortunately. I would look into port forwarding, but it seems like Mullvad doesn’t support that anymore?
Correct, in your case it is impossible to use any port forwarding until you switch VPN services. In the meantime you're basically stuck with whatever torrent speeds / connectivity you manage to achieve.
Ahh unfortunate. It looks like there was a free vpn service posted today that seems reliable. Maybe I’ll look into that. Edit: it was RiseupVPN
You can double-check but AFAIK that VPN service does not offer port forwarding. It'll probably be even slower than your current VPN service since it's not really meant for torrenting or heavy usage.
Search around for earlier posts on VPNs with port forwarding e.g.

Awesome thanks! Looks like I’m gonna check out OVPN.
