They already are using in-class hand written and oral exams as a result of this and to that, I agree with you.
Also I can tell you for a fact mental and written calculations are far more useful than just typing shit on a calculator non-stop.
Also Chat GPT is not a calculator. It completely removed the human from all intellectual pursuits and that's why it's bad.
