The office of the presidency should be abolished
Would we still have the executive branch or just Congress and the Supreme Court?
Two-limbed executive: Head of Government "The President" who is elected by popular vote and has clerical powers similar to Germany's president, and Head of State + Commander in Chief "Prime Congressman" who is nominated by the house and approved by the senate.
Republicans are overrepresented in the House of Representatives because of the cap on members being set to 435 and in the Senate which gives unequal representation to low population states. We would be stuck under Republican rule if we did it this way. Why not just elect this Prime Congressman with a popular vote?
Any fantasy of mine about deconstructing the executive branch also includes us already overturning CU and mandating regular voting method review and/or banning FPTP so that the 2-party system collapses. Also expanding the House and requiring automatic voter registration.
