I recently got a new job but the manager was concerned about my ability to perform on the job with just one arm. I'm not sure if he can ask that but it's a legitimate concern and having two functional arms would massively increase my quality of life anyways.

From research online it seems like a new arm could cost me upwards of 50k, maybe even more depending on the complexity of my case.

Aside from begging or literally waiting a decade to save up the necessary funds is there any way I can get part of my procedure subsidized or am I SOL? Thanks Toronto.

Are you a resident, on OHIP (have a valid healthcard) and have a long term (6 months+) need for it? Have you already applied for the Assistive Devices Program?

Some info and instructions on prosthetic limbs here:

Through the Assistive Devices Program, we help you cover the cost of prosthetic limbs if you were born with a partial or totally absent arm, or if you lost part or all of a limb due to disease or injury (not work-related).

Two types of prosthetic limbs are covered:

basic upper and lower-limb prosthetic(s)

myoelectric upper-limb prosthetic(s)

myoelectric prosthetics controlled by person’s own muscles

Apparently you can have around 75% of the cost covered if you qualify. Have a look at the vendor list at the bottom, give your local one a call/email to inquire as well. It could be up to 100% if you are on ODSP or OW.
