Fediverse vs Disinformation

561 readers
244 users here now

Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.

Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.

What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.

By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

I mean, if they are gonna be forcing births, they are also gonna be the same people to force abortions when birthrates go too high. (Or when the race of the child is "undesirable" to the government)

Its not about "life", its about control.

Not matter if its "One Child Policy" or "Abortion Ban" its two sides of the same coin, the government fucking around in people's bussiness that the government have no bussiness in.

Whether or not a pregnancy should be continued should be solely decided by the bearer of the fetus.

an already existing life > a potential life

I don't like seeing a potential life being terminated either, but that's not my decision to make.
