So much.
My family all got married at age 16-18. I waited until age 22 and am still married nearly 20 years later while they are all divorced. Nothing wrong with waiting.
Heh. Tell me your from Utah without telling me you’re from Utah.
I'm kind of sad that you haven't changed enough to be incompatible with that person. The people I was into at 22 are not the people I am into now.
Maybe they just found a partner who evolved like themself? It doesn't become a shitty choice for OP, just because you couldn't imagine it working for you. It would be a shitty choice for OP if it didn't work for OP
Or each person has evolved in concert....
way to respect other people's choices, man.
I respect their right to make that choice, even if it's a shitty choice. And that's more important.
true words
I don't look at marriage in that way. I don't see anyone at any age as a permanent person. We are all changing constantly.
I see it more as you make a commitment to eachother to see eachother through life, whatever it brings. We made it through a lot of different things such as a near death experience, job losses, disability and sudden moves.
I don't feel like I need to be the same person or enjoy the same hobbies. As long as the respect and trust is there I'm good. Everyone is different though and have different needs. For us we value stability since both of us lacked family support growing up.
I meant more the other direction. Marrying anyone under 30 is crazy. I'm glad it worked out for you but 22 year olds are children that sometimes get blackout drunk for fun. I remember myself and my dating age cohort at 22, any of us making any permanent decision is kinda crazy.
Speak for yourself, I was pretty responsible by 22-ish and got married around then. I'm still happily married.
Yeah there's no right time for everyone. Have people from different countries, cultures and generations on here with totally different values and experiences.
Those of us married at that age probably had to take on a lot of other responsibilities by at least age 18 if not earlier. Someone getting blackout drunk definitely is not in the place for marriage.
Good for you little buddy, your brain wasn't done and you were uneducated and severely underexperienced in all things but you picked the right choice. Congrats. Sometimes chicken entrails predict the weather, more often than chance even. That doesn't mean meteorologists are at risk of bird flu.
You sound lonely
