The Big Shining Lie: We're Better Off Now--No, We're Poorer, Much Poorer
(charleshughsmith.blogspot.com)
This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.
Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

Fact: in 1995 I worked for less money per hour than a McDonald's employee, but with my overtime I made way more, and a friend of mine from school & I were able to buy a duplex 1 street off the beach in Florida.
There is no overtime now for the new staff anywhere, so they have to work just as many hours as I did to make 1/3. Horrible.
