Woah, I've never heard of Listenbrainz! Is this similar to lastFM, where it records your listening history?

Yup. But better. It actually tries to match your scrobble to a track instead of just taking the plain text and going with it. So stats are a lot more accurate

You can even synchronise from last FM, so no need to choose, and it's open source.
