I really love that you can see when he is truly happy and in love or that he is politely smiling while he is not sincerely happy.

Yeah, really great acting but not only Nick the whole cast. Just before Nick talks with Charlie in the last episode he smiles but you can read his face something is bothering Nick. It's not easy to act this way.
