This probably WOULD make sense to the people running AOC's leaflets campaign since it doesn't involve actual properly spelled words but anyway

My headache was actually made worse by the fact that I don't speak Arabic well I just am fluent in the script as a Malay speaker so I can't even try to guess what I'm seeing here it's all topsy-turvy

Husnuzon folks be like, no see this happens all the time if you don't have the Arabic plugin like for Hebrew but here's an observation: the Arabic script is in use for MULTIPLE languages, of which many of those speakers reside in NYC. It's like assuming all Arabs are Muslims.

@[email protected] Probably caused by using Photoshop. You can paste perfectly good Arabic text into Photoshop and get this mess. (Apparently this can be fixed, but it requires changing preferences.)

@[email protected] apparently so! But as I was saying later in the replies, the thing is, Arabic script is used for multiple languages so, idk, even if I don't speak Urdu but I'm Pakistani-adjacent if I see this it's the equivalent of an anglophone seeing someone pointing out a supposedly french sentence but it's in upside down lettering 😂 so.... No one saw the mockups from any relevant language background???

@[email protected] Oh, no question it's a failure on the campaign's part. It's pretty bad to make a bilingual sign and not have anyone who can read the script glance over it.
