I'm totally intrigued by this #Commodore #MaxMachine on an auction site.
It comes in a box that I have never seen before and which is absolutely unusual for this model.๐Ÿ˜
Seems to be from an era shortly before the #C64.

@RetroWizzard afaik this is basically a C64 but with only 2K of RAM, intended first and foremost as a games machine

I'm well aware of the Max Machine, it was the direct ancestor to the C64 and I have repaired a few myself.
It's just that I never saw one in a C64 box format. Usually the MaxMachine boxes are more square.

That's correct, it's featuring a SID chip and a special VIC-II variant that is using SRAM. It was supposed to be released in Germany as VIC-10, but never made a release outside Japan. I have two of them, but none with this kind of box.
