It's so funny (now that I'm making a return to photography on a separate camera) that I apparently had my heart set on a camera that's been causing strife and discord in the online photography circles, and here's me going, ooh I love Lumix (menus)! But I think I've been waiting for something like the S9, but of course I'm speaking as someone whose first proper digital camera spend is a Panasonic... Almost two decades ago. The only time I strayed is during the micro 4/3s era and for the form factor I went with an Olympus (then later a Fujifilm) and then I thought I could depend on smartphones because the Lumixes I could afford were always too bulky, so 2 birds 1 stone.

But now am back on the wagon. Didn't mean to make a post but I've been so bemused at the rep this camera got. It's great and all the design compromises worked out imo, and the killer features are genuinely killer #photography #lumix #lumixS9 #cats #sigmaLens

@[email protected] oh for sure, the best camera is the one you actively use! I can justify this to myself because it's my first camera in a decade ๐Ÿคฃ and I really have always enjoyed Lumix for its image stabilisation and image processing (which is funny for me that I somehow landed on a fairly minor brand at least by market share since way back then). I really think - just on the IS but also the LUTs which is incredible and the way it + the app really cut down on the workflow - if you can find any on sale/used, it's well worth your time to get it for sure! I'm definitely more of that consumer behaviour they were targeting - I do a lot on my phone so the way this camera has super streamlined the colour grading and general editing process has been a real killer feature.

I got one more post just today ๐Ÿ˜ https://mefi.social/@cendawanita/113235850100640068

@[email protected] for sure! Good IBIS is what brought me to m43 in the first place - I didnโ€™t know how much I would appreciate reasonably sized weatherproofed gear until somewhat later. So most of my bodies have been Olympus with some of my most used lenses from Panasonic.

So the L mount systems with first party lenses from multiple vendors, ok effectively Sigma and Panasonic, is a rather appealing factor for me.

Your kitty photos look like so much fun! Our dogs have put up with a lot of my playtime with fast primes just because the combos are small enough to fidget with and bright enough use indoors at night.

So. Much. Fun!

@[email protected] ahhh such a cute doggy! For me, this is going to be a new era... Where I'll actually put money in buying separate lenses ๐Ÿ˜‚ can't wait! (That was my dream when i was in my m43 too but my economics didn't work out and then I told myself let's focus on smartphones instead but I'm definitely hitting the limit of what I can enjoy from them lol and luckily in time to enjoy the advances in the design, not to mention the nostalgia for compact designs)
