Your assuming that all the details are in the story, and everything said was accurate. Or hell, the story even ever happened and wasn't made up.

Also, if a person shows up drunk to an interview, do you think they wouldn't show up drunk to work? The kitchen is a dangerous place, I've personally seen many emergency room visits because someone was careless. And some people aren't good at accepting "no" as an answer.
You assume that it couldn't have happened, but that is not how we do things anymore. The people in charge wanted "fake news" as an excuse? No, they don't GET to have a fucking excuse. Now, it doesn't matter how untrue everything is, what matters is that we fucking kill each other until either FAKE NEWS IS IMPOSSIBLE AGAIN, OR NOBODY IS LEFT ALIVE TO READ IT.
You all fucking DESTROYED my home, the internet. You destroyed optimistic sci-fi, you destroyed unpolarized politics, you destroyed MY FUCKING BREAD AND CIRCUS AND NOW? Now I'm going to destroy everything around me because reality lost the right to be my prison the day my government STOLE me from my parents.
So find something you hate and start going to civil war over killing everyone you disagree with, OR I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU FOR NOT BECOMING MY WEAPON. I HATE YOU ALL, YOU FUCKING BALD RATS THAT CALL YOURSELVES HUMAN, DIE!
