That site was originally meant to be like a directory for professionals and business people no? Like it was never supposed to be a social media site where people argued on comments over politics and bullshit. I feel like I remember when the site used to be a professional platform, wtf happened there?

It still is for most users. Just now an algorithm exists to make the feed basically useless, but it's still good for building a professional network.
