I didn't see it in the article, but doesn't Ireland have comically low tax rates to start with?

Yes, that is why many big tech companies have their european hq there.

And you could say they are pretty lenient with enforcing GDPR & co (they don't do fuck if not forced).

Ireland really seems corrupt as fuck when it comes to Facebook, Apple and I think Google.
