MODERATORS

After being left on read by the mods this is the next step in my attempt in getting clarification on how my comment could be read as 'racist', the cited ban reason.

Context:

This comment: https://lemmy.world/comment/11028531 which was (posted exactly as it was):

readsettlers.org

CW for genocidal racism

"I can hardly believe that the South and North can live in peace unless we get rid of the Negroes. Certainly they cannot, if we don't get rid of the Negroes whom we have armed and disciplined and who have fought with us, I believe, to the amount of 150,000 men. I believe it would be better to export them all..." - Abraham Lincoln https://archive.org/details/autobiographyper0192butl page 903

This comment was removed as 'racist'. See the modlog https://lemmy.world/modlog?page=1&userId=199626

Attempts at getting clarification:

Seeing no official appeal process I messaged the first mod on the list that had activity in the last couple days. Here is the message I sent @[email protected] on 07 Jul:

Hi,

this is about my ban from Political Memes on lemmy.world . I don’t see an official appeal process nor the mod who banned me so I am messaging you rather randomly. Sorry if I oveelooked something.

I am not sure how my comment was racist when Pugjesus is the one dismissing black voices with a “lol stop being melodramatic”. Fairly certain there is a misunderstanding which I hope to rectify.

Thanks

mathemachristian

after receiving no response, this is the message I sent to the next mod with some activity on the mod list @[email protected] on 17 Jul :

Hi,

this is about my ban from [email protected]. I don’t see an official appeal process nor the mod who banned me which is why I see no alternative to DM’ing you directly. Sorry if I overlooked something. I also messaged Rooki over a week ago but never got a reply.

I am not sure how my comment can be seen as racist. I’m hoping to clarify what surely is just a misunderstaning.

Thanks

They at least promptly replied 2.5h later with:

I haven’t taking any mod actions on your account but I will ask around.

My "Appreciate it" was the last communication between me and anyone on the mod team.

Why I care

I am hoping to at least get an explanation on how my comment could be read as racist, because to me this seems like a willful misunderstanding at best (I am quoting Lincoln, those are not my words or views, as should be obvious from the CW I applied to it). Especially with no mod actions taken against the person replying to me linking readsettlers.org with a dismissal of the author, who has been very active in black liberation (though themself not black, that was a mistake in my first message), as "melodramatic".

PugJesus and the rest of the Liberal-Zionist mods such as FlyingSquid and JordanLund are having a big push censor the Genocide in Gaza. They want their precious Holocaust Harris to win the election so who cares about a few million brown people being killed in a concentration camp right?

I was just banned from /Politics for posting a Guardian article debunking JordanLund's Liberal-Zionist propaganda. They aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

Holy shit I'm glad to see I wasn't alone in hating those guys. They were absolutely insufferable before I learned how to properly block users. The worst thing was when I'd engage on one of their (misinformation) posts w/o realizing it was one of them and have to deal with the bot-driven shitstorm that would ensue

oh god I recently had a discussion with FlyingSquid, where he kept not reading before replying. Quite funny tbh. I mean I'm not holding out hope, they want to recreate reddit 2.0 after all, no wonder their moderation reflects that as well, but it's nice to have a public record of their brainworms when they're on display.

FlyingSquid is a crybully who makes up false allegations and resorts to ad-hominems when he tries to defend israel. He lied about me defending the usage of child soldiers, something which never happened, to ban me from from /WorldNews. I've made a post about him here

He lied about me defending the usage of child soldiers

They have abused me in exactly the same way!

I had no idea so many other people had had negative interactions with FlyingSquid and the rest of that crowd (probably because of the bans). Glad to know I wasn't alone
