I've just finished teaching a class on Anthropology of Food in Japan. How I like this topic, wow... it's really, really cool, being able to think about culture through the meals we eat, food production and consumption systems. As the anthropological motto says, food is good not only for eating, but also for thinking. @anthropology #anthropology #japan

@jendefer @anthropology Yeah, I’m always recommending these books, academic and sometimes fiction, such as Fantasy, SciFi or even manga. Ursula LeGuin’s Earthsea is a great gateway to teach Structuralism, for example. I try to show them they don’t have to read something so specific on Japan to learn something about Japan. I think what’s important is to develop this critical thinking.
