Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Not exactly the same, but here is Firefox doing something similar. The left bar is flickering between desktop wallpaper and the middle bar is a stretch of whatever is on the application and the rest is as it's supposed to be. It seems to be related to the HZ as my video camera cannot capture the flicker, having an effect like what happens when a spinning blade will look like it's not moving.
In games it's usually top right/left square (about 30% width, 20% height) that starts flickering. Either way, there's no need to take time to find a solution, since I'm already transfering things over. The firefox one to my understanding has been documented and common.
I see, do you know if this is specific to Kwin / KDE? I've not seen anything like this so far
