Community Supported Agriculture

https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Community-supported_agriculture

Basically an org (usually nonprofit) serves as a buying club direct from a bunch of farmers, and they split the harvest amongst their members. Its a great way to get organics for cheap, and to support your local farmer.

This is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for, thank you!

Bonus: some CSAs offer free food to organizers who help run the CSA (eg unload the truck and split-up the produce into boxes for each member, and organize pickups from the members).

So its a great way for people with more time than money to feed themselves healthy food for free
