In June 2023, another Air India flight on the same route was forced to make an emergency landing in Russia. The flight from New Delhi was stranded for a day at Sokol Airport in Magadan Oblast due to a technical issue with an engine. Passengers were taken to a makeshift shelter in a school gym.

I hope it doesn't take too long for Air India to get another plane for the passengers. But glad there are no injuries.
