IIRC Boost was ad free without paying for it, which is what matters to my broke but ad hating ass.

That's what I love about boost. You barely notice the ads. But I bought it anyway out of respect for the dev.

Yeah, I forgot it had ads sometimes because for the most part, they weren't invasive at all.

Sometimes a bottom bar ad appeared which was annoying but it didn't appear until near the end for me for some reason.

It had a bottom banner. Dunno if you could turn it off for free?

No, you couldn't. However, it was offered for cheap in discounts.
