Democrats in Hollywood, DC and mainstream media has made the claims that Trump will destroy democracy. He will be a dictator. He's a fascist. He's going to kill anyone and everyone who opposes him... the left wholeheartedly created this environment. I'm not even surprised. Just look at the Lemmy posts about Trump. It's a no brainer.
You don't get ride in on your high horse. This is the sentiment around Trump because of Trump. You don't get to run your campaign like half the country is the enemy and be surprised when the political temperature rises.
Don't feed the trolls man
Honestly,I say feed them instead of letting them consume the conversation everywhere.
To the point of assassination attempts? Okay.
Who are the ones who refuse to reign in gun control, again?
Pretty sure mental health is more of a concern. Gun control doesn't deter violent criminals. And especially now? In this environment? Good luck with that. I sure as fk wouldn't listen to the government if it told me that my tool for self defense is now illegal. They can eat cow dung.
So you somehow seem to be very willing to shoot people at the same time that you're trying to blame other people for people getting shot. Enjoy your cognitive dissonance.
There's a difference between law abiding citizens and criminals.
However, no American should obey an unconstitutional law.
Very much yes
Trump openly said he'd be a dictator and talked about locking up his political opponents, it's not like anyone is putting words in his mouth. He IS a fascist piece of shit, and I don't understand how an assassination attempt now makes him any less of a fascist piece of shit.
And which of those things is untrue? The Republicans have openly said that they don't want a democracy (Also, we already don't really have one.). Trump has tried to stay in power beyond his term. He is a fascist. He probably won't kill anyone who opposes him but only because he won't live long enough (he's old) to eliminate the government red tape to do it.
While there's some element of truth to what you've said- the DNC is using the "End of Democracy" meme as one of their primary themes in their campaign messaging- I don't think that had anything to do with this shooting.
Statistically speaking the vast majority of domestic terrorism comes from far-right extremists. We don't know the motivations behind the shooter at this point in time, but the consensus seems to be so far that he was conservative.
I think it's much more likely he was radicalized online and either
a) wanted to kill Trump to further polarize the political tension in an accelerationist sense (sort of like how far-right organizations were shooting both protestors & police during Euromaidan. Just to increase the outrage, the violence, etc).
Basically an attempt to weaken the regime
Or
b) he became a white supremacist and those tend to hate Trump. Go on stormfront forums and see what they say about Trump. They think he's a jewlover, fake messiah, etc. They hate Jews, Trump loves jews. Therefore, Trump is a potential target.
Or
c) was just nutty plain and simple. Ie killing Trump would unite him with some cartoon character from Nickelodean in the afterlife.
All of those are vastly more likely than someone being radicalized by DNC messaging, I believe.
Maybe don't paraphrase from Mein Kampf if you don't want to be called a fascist.
Trump has also been making this claim, explicitly calling for State Secretaries to tamper with election results and state legislators to send up faithless EC delegates.
My man has compared himself to Mussolini and called for the arrest/killing of political dissidents on a regular basis.
Are you suggesting that the guy who shot Trump was reading too many posts on a Reddit knock-off, rather than spending all his time down the YouTube gun nut rabbit hole?
