Isn't "it's not a tree it's a [name plant type] that looks like a tree" true for most trees?
True. “Tree” is not a compact category that encompasses all examples whilst excluding things that aren’t trees, not rather a vibe about whether something feels tree-like. Palm trees, for example, are not the same sort of organism as oaks.
