Why was this removed by mod?
does mods here not like people questioning chinese medicine?
I thought it was shown that it definitely helps, but it really doesn’t matter where the needles are placed, just that you are poked.
I don’t doubt it may work for some people (placebo maybe?) but not for me. I have sinusitis, I was told that I may breathe well with acupuncture. Five sessions later, zero improvement, and a lot of money spent. The guy told me that I may need 5 more sessions because somehow my body was not reacting as expected…. For free? No, paying again. No, thanks.
Any study that shows positive effect is funded by the chinese goverment. Like 100% of thise studies show positive effect. Nothing else on the market that isnt snake oil shows 100% positive effect. Pushing TCM is chinese goverment way of increasing its political influence around the world.
I think more research should be done as it may interact with the interstitium which is a relatively new discovery and may provide a scientific explanation.
There is no effect. Any serious study shows zero effect. And even without that, just by looking at the origin of it, it is astrology.
I'd disagree. Even as a sample of one, I benefitted from it greatly from treating my sinus and LBP. For a bit of context, this is in Singapore where we have a formal medical board to regulate TCM and acupuncture, and physicians undergo years of college education. Laws are also present to deter abuse and protect patients.
