If you've never seen Team American: World Police look it up and you'll better understand what Americans think about American "freedom." Which funnily enough recieved a NC-17 rating due to an explicit sex scene involving puppets.
As they say, Americans want "freedom to..."
Modern societies want "Freedom from..."
