BSG absolutely pays for licenses, many of the gun manufacturers in Tarkov give devs the rights to use their guns for free - it's literally advertising.
I know for a fact they pay for the Glock licenses, Glock will absolutely burn you alive for stepping on their toes. Same goes for HK.

Interesting, I didn't know that about the guns. My info is probably a little bit old because they certainly didn't start off all licenced up and ready to go and there was some debate about it in the community years ago.
