"I don't care about all that suffering, death, and oppression of marginalized groups as long as my fravorite candidate wins"
More immigrants and refugees imprisoned and deported than under Trump (I'm not making this up, his secretary of homeland security Mayorkas has bragged about it)
Supporting Israel's genocide
Urging people back to work during a pandemic (and other ableist policies)
Extending our surveillance state
Continuing the oppression and genocide against Native Americans
Signing queerphobic bills
And other examples which I'm not going to outline here because this is not a debate community, and it is assumed you know of these things before engaging here to avoid having to trot all this out over and over again
"But at least he can be swayed, unlike Trump"
He can? I've seen no evidence of this, and I've seen even less evidence that his Democratic supporters are willing to criticize him, much less take any meaningful action to move him left. In fact, I've seen people going about on lemmy itself saying ridiculous things like "he's the best president we've had in 50 years" -- in the midst of a genocide.
I'm not saying it's not true that he's better than Trump, but he's also doing everything Trump would want and more.
If you decide to vote for Biden, then fine, but we're not continuing this discussion. You are not allowed to support fascism and genocide here, and praising Biden is an example of doing so. That user was breaking the rules.
