Mormon Facts: The papyrus Joseph Smith "translated" into the Book of Abraham was afterwards translated by scientists using the Rosetta Stone. It turns out, it has nothing to do with the Book of Abraham.

I believe it was something about the rules for how to conduct a funeral. It wasn't unique or notable at all apparently.

Yes, funeral papyrus.

The man's name was Hor (Horace). That's not a joke. Joseph Smith was that far off base.

@TempleSquare @[email protected] The official excuse is that the papyrus "inspired" the revelation, despite multiple claims that it was a direct translation.

Not that there needs to be a smoking gun, but if anyone was looking for one to prove mormonism is a fraud, this is a big one.
